The Wine & Cheese Evening
30th March 2009

Indulge your palate with the most delicious of wine and the finest of fromage supplied by Rippon Cheese Stores on Monday 30 March at Boisdale of Bishopsgate.

As with their previous events, there will be an opportunity to order what you taste at the best possible prices.


CHEESE

Comte Jura
France, Jura
Cow's milk, firm, slightly elastic ivory to
pale yellow pate with sweet aftertaste. Natural
stippled, golden-yellow to brown rind.

Munster Petite France, Alsace
Cow's milk, the traditional method of
serving Munster cheese is to sprinkle
the cheese with cumin seeds.

St Maure Fermier
France, Touraine
Goat's milk, crumbly fresh log shaped
which has a length of straw running
through the middle.

Reblochon France, Savoie
Rich milk of Abondance, Montbeliard
and Tarine cows. Fresh, clear aroma
comes from the mould. Moist, smooth
and supple fatty pate.

Beenleigh Blue
England, Devon
Made by Robin Congdon and Sari Cooper near
Totnes the cheese is matured for six months.
Availability restricted at certain times of the
year due to the lack of ewes milk.

Caerphilly Gorwydd
Wales, Ceredigion
Dates back to early 19th century. Mild, slightly
salty and sour flavour with soft crumbly texture.
Maturing takes two months.

WINE WINES

Château Richemont Blanc 2006
Château de Sours, AC Bordeaux
Move over New Zealand. This is the way forward
for delicious light & crispy Sauvignon Blanc
with a citrus tangy touch of Semillon.

Tarapaca Viognier/ Sauvignon/Chardonnay
2008, Maipo Valley, Chile
Intense citrus notes of tangerine & fennel
on the nose with the viognier bringing apple
custard & mango notes.

Moon Harvest Chardonnay 2007
South Australia
Harvested at night to enhance flavours and
maintain freshness this is a zesty chardonnay with
pear, white peach, mango and citrus with a dash
of apple sherbet and a juicy crisp finish. 

RED WINES 

Fleurie Cuvée Tradition 2007

Domaine de Robert, Patrick Brunet
Wonderfully attractive fruit & floral flavours &
good depth. This is an absolute peak for Fleurie


Moon Harvest Shiraz 2006
South Australia
Grown and selected from premium
vineyards this shows complex fruit on the
nose with rich berry, dark chocolate and
liquorice with hints of mint, spice and
coffee on the lingering finish.

La Closerie de Fourtet 2003
Grand Cru Classé, St. Emilion
La Closerie de Fourtet is the second label
of Château Fourtet. A delightful bouquet
of plum, spice & chocolate on the nose
leads to a full-bodied, intense, ripe
fruitiness & silky tannins.

Merindad Gran Reserva 2000
Calificada,Rioja Spain
Single variety Tempranillo. The 2000 vintage
was acknowledged as one of the top four
throughout Rioja´s history.

Tarapaca Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2007
Maipo Valley, Chile
Intense, ripe, red fruit aromas with cherry,
plum and freshly milled pepper on the palate
with a long soft aftertaste.98% Cabernet
Sauvignon with 2% Cabernet Franc.

Grand Reserve Carmenere 2007
Tarapaca, Maipo Valley, Chile
Deep violet in colour with aromas of dark
chocolate, soy and freshly milled peppercorns.
